The FW972M mini horns are conventional audible signal appliances operating on notification appliance circuits (NAC), listed according to UL 464 and ULC-S525 for indoor use. When NAC circuit polarity switches from supervision to alarm activation, the device sounds with Temporal 3 code as specified by ANSI and NFPA 72. The horns offer three sound level settings (high, medium, low) to accommodate various application requirements and ambient noise conditions. Models with suffix W or R include a silence button that when pressed allows the device to be silenced for 10 minutes before automatically resounding, while models with suffix -N operate without this feature. Operating on 16-33 VDC/FWR regulated voltage with maximum RMS alarm current ranging from 16mA to 32mA depending on sound level setting, the unit produces sound levels from 75-89 dBA (UL 464) or 83-92 dBA (ULC 525) at varying voltages and settings. The compact mini horn provides excellent directional characteristics with wide horizontal and vertical coverage. Available in red or white finish, the device mounts on standard single gang electrical boxes with 12-18 AWG wiring. Operating reliably in temperatures from 32°F to 120°F and humidity from 0% to 93% RH, the mini horn is compatible with FW951 sync modules and FW105/FW106 control panels.
